Baseball Recap: Oxnard Gets the Win

The Oxnard Yellowjackets narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Canyon Cowboys 5-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellowjackets.

Carlos Rodriguez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Rodriguez wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Noah Moreno, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Oxnard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Oxnard's record is now 11-17. As for Canyon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 19 of their last 20 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-24 record this season.

As of now, neither Oxnard nor Canyon have any future games scheduled.
