Football Recap: Aplington-Parkersburg Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Aplington-Parkersburg had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 35-13 to the Grundy Center Spartans on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Spartans are ranked second).

Aplington-Parkersburg didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-0 loss against Dike-New Hartford on the 5th. As for Grundy Center, they have also already played their next game, a 41-7 victory against Columbus on the 5th.
