Basketball Recap: Seminole Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Seminole unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McLoud Redskins on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Chieftains in their meetings with the Redskins: they've now lost five in a row.

Seminole's loss came despite strong showings from Caden Alsip and Christian Brager. Alsip shot 44% from the field on his way to 20 points, while Brager went 7-for-12 en route to 22 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jay Ladd, who posted four points and eight boards.

Coming up, Seminole will look to defend their home court on Friday against North Rock Creek at 7:00 p.m. As for McLoud, they will head out on the road to challenge Holdenville at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
