Basketball Game Preview: Ysleta Indians vs. Mountain View Lobos

Ysleta is 1-9 against Mountain View since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Ysleta Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mountain View Lobos at 7:30 p.m.

Ysleta is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They took a hard 39-20 fall against Bowie.

Meanwhile, Mountain View waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They snuck past the Desert Warriors with a 47-43 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Lobos' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 802nd in Texas, while the Desert Warriors are ranked 97th in New Mexico).

Ysleta better focus on containing Breann Martinez and Natalia Salas as the pair were huge in Mountain View's win. Martinez dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards, while Salas almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds Martinez has posted since back in November. Yajaira Diaz was another key player, putting up three points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Mountain View pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.7 points per game. As for Ysleta, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
