Football Recap: Valley Christian Lions vs. Delta Saints
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Elite, Valley Christian was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Delta Saints by a score of 27-14. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2023.
Leading Valley Christian to victory were Bradley Fretland and Beau Porter. Fretland threw for 93 yards and two touchdowns, while Porter picked up 65 receiving yards and a touchdown. An impressive showing, but Porter really ramped things up playing D: he picked up two sacks, forced a fumble, and made eight total tackles.
Another reason for the win was Valley Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Porter was especially locked on to Delta's QB and sacked him twice. Connor Tinker was another major factor on D, making 12 total tackles.
