Basketball Recap: Montgomery Piles Up the Points Against Washington

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Montgomery). They claimed a resounding 68-40 win over the Washington Eagles. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Despite the loss, Washington still got an impressive performance from Korey Abantao, who posted 18 points and five assists. The game was Abantao's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Jonah Chiu was another key player, putting up nine points.

Montgomery's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Washington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Montgomery will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Analy at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Washington, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Washington Eagles face off against the Sequoia Ravens at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Washington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.4 points per game this season.
