Softball Recap: Westville Takes a Loss

Westville couldn't beat Boone Grove on Friday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fourth inning. The Blackhawks came up short against the Wolves, falling 19-9. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-5 back in April.

Kiersten Vaughan was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lily Green, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Westville's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Boone Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Westville will square off against Hobart at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blackhawks are facing the Brickies at the right time seeing as the Brickies are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Boone Grove, they will challenge Valparaiso at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
