Basketball Game Preview: Milford Eagles vs. Turpin Spartans

Milford hasn't had much luck against Turpin recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Milford Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Turpin Spartans at 7:30 p.m. Milford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season.

Milford fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Walnut Hills on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 51-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Despite the defeat, Milford had strong showings from Camron Arington, who posted 13 points, and Sloan Gormley, who had 12 points. Luke Brand was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, Turpin suffered their closest loss since December 17, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Kings by a score of 60-57. The Spartans have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Turpin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Milford, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-9.

Milford couldn't quite finish off Turpin when the teams last played back in January of 2024 and fell 65-62. Can Milford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
