Volleyball Recap: Franklin Central Comes Up Short

Franklin Central and Center Grove squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Franklin Central had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

When it comes to explaining why Franklin Central lost, don't look at Emily Williams. Despite the final result, she had 28 assists and four digs. Williams has been hot for a while, having posted 20 or more assists the last 11 times she's played.

With the loss, Franklin Central broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 21-11. As for Center Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-9 record this season.

Franklin Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Center Grove, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Yorktown on the 25th.
