Kokomo has gone a perfect 8-0 against Muncie Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Wildkats will square off against the Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. Kokomo has given up an average of 31.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Kokomo is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Lafayette Jefferson on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Wildkats took a blow against the Bronchos, falling 49-16. While losing is never fun, the Wildkats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Bronchos are ranked 23rd).

Meanwhile, Muncie Central entered their tilt with Anderson on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They claimed a resounding 42-6 victory over the Indians. That 36 point margin sets a new team best for the Bearcats this season.

Muncie Central found their leader in sophomore Mason Ferguson, who threw for 152 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. Ferguson's passing game has become a key predictor of the Bearcats' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. Marquis Allen was in the mix as well, providing Muncie Central with two scores.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Muncie Central's defense and their six sacks. In that department, Demarshuwn Clemens was the leader with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten.

Muncie Central now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Kokomo, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-5.

Everything came up roses for Kokomo against Muncie Central in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 28-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildkats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
