Football Recap: Jared White's Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Haven Christian over Providence Athletic Club

South Haven Christian kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Providence Athletic Club Panthers by a score of 36-34.

Several South Haven Christian players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jared White, who rushed for 72 yards and two TDs on only eight carries, and also picked up 35 receiving yards. Another rusher making a difference was Kade Atkinson, who gained 132 total yards.

Providence Athletic Club was led to victory by Patrick Bennett and Kyle McFarland. Bennett threw for 191 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 passes, while McFarland gained 124 total yards. Those 191 passing yards gave Bennett a new career-high.

Looking ahead, South Haven Christian will head out on the road to challenge Tri-Cities Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Providence Athletic Club, they will take on Jefferson Davis Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
