Basketball Recap: Coosa Takes a Loss

Coosa lost against Fannin County back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Coosa Eagles lost 67-45 to the Fannin County Rebels. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly 22 points.

When it comes to explaining why Coosa lost, don't look at Jaylen Worfford. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 22 en route to 20 points and six steals. Another player making a difference was Jordan Scott, who posted eight points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Coosa smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.

Coosa dropped their record down to 10-11 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Fannin County, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.

Coosa has already played their next game, a 55-37 defeat against Dade County on the 25th. As for Fannin County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-57 victory against Gordon Central on the 25th.
