Baseball Game Preview: Medical Lake Cardinals vs. Colville Crimson Hawks

Medical Lake hasn't had much luck against Colville recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Cardinals will welcome the Crimson Hawks at 12:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Medical Lake is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Chewelah, falling 12-2.

Meanwhile, Colville didn't have quite enough to beat Deer Park on Monday and fell 2-1. The game marked the Crimson Hawks' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Kyle Bradfield spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Colville is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-4 otherwise.

Colville's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-5. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Medical Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Medical Lake couldn't quite get it done against Colville when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
