Soccer Recap: Memorial Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three games, Memorial finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They lost 7-0 to the Stratford Spartans. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Mustangs haven't been shut out since back in January.

Memorial's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 8-5-1. As for Stratford, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2-3 record this season.

Memorial and Stratford should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Memorial (ranked 122nd) will meet Cypress Ridge (ranked 394th) at 7:30 p.m. on February 18th. Meanwhile, Stratford will challenge Cypress Creek at 7:15 p.m. on Friday up 428 places (43 vs. 471).
