Basketball Recap: Pershing Triumphs

Pershing posted their closest win since February 26, 2024 on Friday. They skirted past the Henry Ford Academy: School for Creative Studies Mustangs 72-70. Given the Doughboys' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Mustangs are ranked 598th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pershing has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Henry Ford Academy: School for Creative Studies, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Pershing will take on Mumford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Henry Ford Academy: School for Creative Studies, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Western International at 7:00 p.m.
