Spackenkill has gone 9-1 against Dover recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dragons at 3:00 p.m.

Spackenkill fell victim to New Paltz and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huguenots. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Spartans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Dover entered their tilt with Pine Plains on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bombers a 4-0 shutout. That four run margin sets a new team best for the Dragons this season.

Caleb Montalvo- Soto was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Montalvo- Soto was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one double. He also put up a hit, which was his first of the season.

Montalvo- Soto wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Evan Arnold, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Dover now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Spackenkill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Spackenkill took their win against Dover when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 16-2 score. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
