Baseball Recap: Maplesville Comes Up Short

Maplesville lost against Isabella last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Maplesville Red Devils fell 8-5 to the Isabella Mustangs. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pearce Yergan was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Jakobe Nix was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Maplesville's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Isabella, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maplesville will head out to square off against Holtville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Isabella, they will venture away from home to challenge Central of Coosa County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
