Baseball Recap: Proviso West Comes Up Short

Proviso West lost against Northridge back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Proviso West took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northridge. Even though they lost, the Panthers' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Logan Komperda was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Andres Becerra, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Even though they lost, Proviso West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Proviso West suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 2-2. As for Northridge, their record is now 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Proviso West will head out to challenge Francis W. Parker at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Northridge, they will venture away from home to face off against Walther Christian Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Walther Christian Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
