Two dominant guards in Max McComb and Eli Sego are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The University Trailblazers will challenge the Triton Central Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. University knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Triton Central likes a good challenge.
University is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They strolled past Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter with points to spare, taking the game 58-43.

It was another big night for McComb, who shot 45% from the field on his way to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks. He is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games he's played. Faisal Mohamud was another key player, putting up 11 points and five assists.
Meanwhile, Triton Central came tearing into Saturday's matchup with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 37-30 victory over the Crusaders. The game was the first time the Tigers have beaten the Crusaders on their court since January 29, 2021.
University better focus on containing Sego and Silas Blair as the pair were huge in Triton Central's win. Sego went 5-for-12 to rack up 14 points along with seven boards and three steals, while Blair shot 71% from the field en route to 10 points and five rebounds. That's the most boards Sego has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cael Butler, who scored six points.
Triton Central's record now sits at 16-9. As for University, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: University has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 22.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Triton Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 21.3 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
University was able to grind out a solid win over Triton Central when the teams last played back in March of 2022, winning 56-49. Does University have another victory up their sleeve, or will Triton Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
