Basketball Recap: Ty Fritz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Valley View over Carlisle

Valley View lost against Carlisle back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Valley View Spartans fell 66-58 to the Carlisle Indians.

Valley View lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ty Fritz, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 boards. Fritz is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Anthony Valenti, who posted nine points along with six assists and six rebounds.

Valley View dropped their record down to 12-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Carlisle, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley View will venture away from home to face off against Bellbrook at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carlisle, they will challenge Legacy Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
