The Phalen Leadership Academy Falcon will head out to challenge the KIPP Legacy Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Phalen Leadership Academy is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Phalen Leadership Academy ended up a good deal behind Richmond and lost 76-62.

Despite the defeat, Phalen Leadership Academy got top-tier performance from Zinan Taylor, who posted 26 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Davion Robinson, who had eight points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, KIPP Legacy was able to grind out a solid win over Northside L back in December of 2024, taking the game 70-59.

KIPP Legacy's win came from a few key players Phalen Leadership Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Shalon Robinson, who went 9 of 14 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahmere Evans, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 24 points.

KIPP Legacy's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Phalen Leadership Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Phalen Leadership Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 65 points per game. However, it's not like KIPP Legacy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 70.7 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.

Everything came up roses for Phalen Leadership Academy against KIPP Legacy in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 79-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Phalen Leadership Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
