Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Aubrey Marketon and Abbey Meinert Lead Sauk Rapids-Rice to Victory

Sauk Rapids-Rice waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Detroit Lakes Lakers 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Storm also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-16, 25-21.

Sauk Rapids-Rice was led to victory by Abbey Meinert and Aubrey Marketon. Meinert had four digs and two aces, while Marketon had five digs and four aces. What's more, Marketon posted two kills, the most she's had over her last three contests.

Sauk Rapids-Rice's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Detroit Lakes, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Sauk Rapids-Rice didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Brainerd on the 18th. After both having extra time off, Detroit Lakes and Willmar will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
