Basketball Recap: Newark Takes a Loss

Newark lost against Dwight back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Newark Norsemen were dealt a 55-26 loss at the hands of the Dwight Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Norsemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 658th, while the Trojans are ranked 311th).

Newark's defeat dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Dwight, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-11.

Newark has already played their next game (against Hinckley-Big Rock), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Dwight will look to defend their home court on Monday against Henry-Senachwine at 6:00 p.m. Dwight is facing Henry-Senachwine at the right time seeing as Henry-Senachwine is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
