Baseball Recap: Cuero Comes Up Short

If Cuero was feeling good fresh off their 9-1 takedown of Columbus last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cuero Gobblers fell just short of the Danbury Panthers by a score of 9-7 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Gobblers have suffered since April 9, 2024.

Cuero has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. Danbury now has a winning record of 4-3.

Cuero wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-4 loss against Franklin on the 7th. As for Danbury, they will face off against Evadale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Danbury's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Evadale's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
