Baseball Recap: Weld Central Takes a Loss

After soaring to 14 runs the game before, Weld Central was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They came up short against the Eagle Valley Devils, falling 9-1. The Rebels were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Devils earlier this season, when they won 14-9.

Weld Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Pierce Thoene, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Weld Central now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Eagle Valley, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5.

Weld Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Grand Valley on the 29th. As for Eagle Valley, they will challenge Battle Mountain at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
