League recap: Worcester Academy falls to upstart Phillips Exeter Academy

Phillips Exeter Academy scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Worcester Academy, 34-13. At the time, the Hilltoppers was ranked 25th in the state, while the Lions was 31st.

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Northfield Mount Hermon, who took down 44th ranked Northfield Mount Hermon, 33-7.

Loomis Chaffee's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Williams Emmanuel threw for 211 and two touchdowns and Durelle Napier had 71 yards receiving. On the ground Luvin De Leon chipped in 137 yards. A J Poplin helped Loomis Chaffee's passing attack out by catching three balls for 50 yards.

Emmanuel has thrown for 211 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Napier has two catches for 71 yards. De Leon leads the league in rushing with 137 yards.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Phillips Exeter Academy and Choate Rosemary Hall. Bill Glennon's team enters the game ranked 23rd in the state, while the Wild Boars ranks fifth.

Emmanuel and Napier provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Phillips Academy. The connection went for 64 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
