Softball Recap: Oley Valley Lynx vs. Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes
After flying high against Antietam on Wednesday, Oley Valley came back down to earth. The Oley Valley Lynx lost 12-3 to the Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Oley Valley of the 7-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.
Dana Messner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with a home run.
On Schuylkill Haven's side, Gracelyn Line made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Line was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and a stolen base.
In other batting news, Teagan Wehr was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4. Ally Becker was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Oley Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Schuylkill Haven, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-7.
As of now, neither Oley Valley nor Schuylkill Haven have any future games scheduled.
