Basketball Recap: Blue Ridge Snags Fifth Victory in Last Six Games

If Travelers Rest wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Blue Ridge, they should've done a better job of containing Paul Bishop. The Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers secured a 70-66 W over the Travelers Rest Devildogs on Friday thanks in part to Bishop, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Trey Bradley, who posted 11 points and eight assists. That's the most assists he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Blue Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.2 points per game. As for Travelers Rest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

Blue Ridge and Greer will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Blue Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Greer likes a good challenge. As for Travelers Rest, they will head out on the road to square off against Berea at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
