Basketball Game Preview: Christ Covenant Spartans vs. Pitt County P Pacers

The Christ Covenant Spartans will take on the Pitt County P Pacers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Christ Covenant is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.4 points per game this season.

Christ Covenant is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They fell 54-45 to Trinity Christian.

Despite their loss, Christ Covenant saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tyler Roberson, who went 7 for 15 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. That's the most points Roberson has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Noah Stein, who posted 18 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Christ Covenant smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Pitt County P can bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Coastal Brigade by a score of 46-39.

Pitt County P found their leader in sophomore Landon Pike, who went 6 of 9 en route to 17 points. JT Smethrs was another key player, putting up ten points.

Christ Covenant's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Pitt County P, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.

Christ Covenant came out on top in a nail-biter against Pitt County P in their previous matchup two weeks ago, sneaking past 49-47. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Pike, who had 25 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Christ Covenant still be able to contain Pike?
