Basketball Recap: Southside Comes Up Short

Southside was the 54-29 winner over Lake Charles College Prep when they last played one another back in December of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Southside Sharks fell just short of the Lake Charles College Prep Trailblazers by a score of 46-43 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Trailblazers are ranked ninth).

Leading Lake Charles College Prep to victory were Jordan Levier and Izayha Brown. Levier posted ten points, while Brown scored nine points.

Southside has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Lake Charles College Prep, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Southside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-34 loss against Beaumont United on the 13th. As for Lake Charles College Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-45 win against Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy on the 13th.
