Football Recap: Viliami Tapa'atoutai Key Part of Team Effort in Wildcats Win

After losing to Westlake the last time they met, Woods Cross decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Wildcats enjoyed a cozy 27-10 victory over the Thunder on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Woods Cross' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Viliami Tapa'Atoutai, who rushed for 136 yards and a pair of scores. Tapa'Atoutai is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 123 every time he's taken the field this season. Jesse Simmons also helped out as he racked up 110 rushing yards.

Woods Cross didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Westlake to a completion percentage of just 42.4%. The Wildcats weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 57.1%.

When it comes to explaining why Westlake lost, don't look at BOSTEN FOUNTAINE. Despite the final result, he threw for 250 yards and one TD.

Woods Cross now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Westlake, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Looking ahead, Woods Cross will square off against Bountiful at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Wildcats their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Westlake, they will challenge Herriman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunder will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 31 points in their last four games.
