Football Recap: Oliver Springs Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Oliver Springs had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 6-4 to make it four. They were outmatched by the Coalfield Yellow Jackets and fell 48-7. The game marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Liam Boeke threw for 54 yards on six of 16 attempts. Jordan Gray was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards. On the ground, Jaxon Jett rushed for 84 yards and one TD.

As for Coalfield, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.4 points over those games.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Hadyn Headrick and Jaiden Bunch. Headrick rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries while Bunch rushed for 124 yards and three scores on only 12 carries. Bunch is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 124 every time he's taken the field this season.

Oliver Springs and Coalfield are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Bobcats will challenge North Greene at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oliver Springs will need to watch out since the Huskies have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Coalfield, they will host Cloudland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellow Jackets will be up against the Highlanders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.2 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
