Baseball Recap: Lexington Gets the Win

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Lexington ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Summerville Green Wave. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 4-2 win the Green Wave walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2025.

Brayden Studebaker looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Victor Kaczenski and Christian Spivey did most of the damage at the plate: Kaczenski went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Spivey went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was David Laney, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Lexington has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs this season. As for Summerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lexington will welcome Dorman at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Summerville, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Dutch Fork at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
