4A Region III District 17 recap September 4, 2013

East View took down Lanier 58-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

East View led 4A Region III District 17 in scoring this week after putting up 58 points on the Vikings.

Georgetown's dynamic duo of Ben Bottlinger and Camden Lepley proved tough for Ellison to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Bottlinger threw for 67 yards and Lepley had 51 yards receiving. Zach McCoig helped Georgetown's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 31 yards.

The Eagles' dynamic duo of Bottlinger and Lepley proved to be unstoppable against the Eagles, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Te'Rel Simmons was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 148 yards on 17 carries as Elgin bested Ellison. Da'Trean Simmons also contributed to the rushing game with 86 yards on the ground.

Simmons was a passing and rushing force as the Wildcats bested Rudder.

Bottlinger put up the best numbers through the air as Jason Dean's team beat Trent Gregory's team.

Lepley was the best receiver in the league this week as the Eagles defeated the Eagles.

Georgetown's Bottlinger and Lepley have formed a dream team this season, leading 4A Region III District 17 in both passing and receiving yards. Bottlinger has thrown for 67 yards this season, while Lepley, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 5 catches for 51 yards. Simmons from Elgin leads the league in rushing with 148 yards.

East View made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,261 from 8,342. The improvement came about via a 58-0 victory over Lanier last week.
