Recap: Belle Plaine Dragons vs. Moundridge Wildcats
The Belle Plaine Dragons suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Moundridge 71-29. Belle Plaine was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-16.
Moundridge found their leader in underclassman Cammi Unruh, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Unruh pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Kaminkow, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Belle Plaine dropped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Moundridge, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Belle Plaine will take on Chaparral at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chaparral presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Belle Plaine in Kansas (Chaparral is ranked 131st, while Belle Plaine is ranked 280th). Moundridge on the road again on Friday and play against Inman at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th.
