Softball Recap: Montgomery County Comes Up Short

If Montgomery County was riding high fresh off their 19-5 takedown of Wolfe County two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians lost 13-2 to the Harrison County Thorobreds/Fillies on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 8-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Kinley Auxier was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylee Montgomery, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Montgomery County's record is now 18-20. As for Harrison County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 21 of their last 24 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 37-7-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Montgomery County nor Harrison County have any future games scheduled.
