Softball Preview: Fillmore Eagles vs. Friendship Golden Eagles
The Fillmore Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Friendship Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fillmore is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.3 runs per game this season.
Fillmore came out on top against Hinsdale Central on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run first inning. The Eagles never let the Bobcats get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Mylee Miller was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Morghyn Ross was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and six RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Mattie McCumiskey was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Friendship was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against Cuba-Rushford, falling 15-1. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Golden Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.
Friendship's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Fillmore, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
Fillmore took their win against Friendship in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 22-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
