Preview: Tampa Bay Tech Titans vs. King Lions
Tampa Bay Tech is 6-0 against King since November of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Tampa Bay Tech Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the King Lions at 8:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tampa Bay Tech has three straight victories, King has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Tampa Bay Tech took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 64-13 win over Chamberlain. With Tampa Bay Tech ahead 38-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Azjannie Culberth was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Culberth has scored at least 25% of Tampa Bay Tech's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Breanna Hartley, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, King was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 39-38 to Leto. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for King in their matchups with Leto: they've now lost four in a row.
The win got Tampa Bay Tech back to even at 3-3. As for King, they bumped their record down to 1-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Tampa Bay Tech against King in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 78-17 victory. Does Tampa Bay Tech have another victory up their sleeve, or will King turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
