While Columbia's win against North Forrest wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-51 victory over the Eagles on Saturday. The game was the first time the Wildcats have beaten the Eagles on their court since December 12, 2017.

When it comes to explaining why North Forrest lost, don't look at Brooklynn Adams. Despite the final result, she posted 20 points in addition to six boards and six steals. That was a full 39.2% of the Eagles' points, marking the third time in a row Adams has earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laken Wilson, who scored 13 points and eight rebounds.

The win got Columbia back to even at 1-1. As for North Forrest, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia will venture away from home to challenge Mendenhall at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Forrest, they will head out to take on Jefferson Davis County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
