Basketball Recap: Marana Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Cienega came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against Marana, but Adrian Griffin wouldn't allow it. The Marana Tigers came out on top against the Cienega Bobcats by a score of 41-29 on Tuesday thanks in part to Griffin, who went 5 for 8 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Alyssa Valencia was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

When it comes to explaining why Cienega lost, don't look at Amaya Woolford. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards.

With the win, Marana broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-10. As for Cienega, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.

Marana didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-29 loss against Cibola on the 17th. As for Cienega, they will square off against Nogales at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st.
