Volleyball Recap: Chaparral Falls Short Against Ranked Liberty

Chaparral faced Liberty in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Cowboys lost 3-0 to the Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cowboys of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-18.

Chaparral lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Adrian Ocampo, who had 11 kills, seven digs, and one block. Ocampo is crushing it when it comes to kills: he's had at least seven every time he's taken the court this season. Jordan Pierce was another key player, getting seven digs, six kills, and two aces.

Chaparral has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Liberty, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-5.
