Baseball Recap: Bucklin Red Aces vs. Spearville Lancers

After losing to Spearville the last time they met, Bucklin decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bucklin Red Aces had just enough and edged the Spearville Lancers out 3-2.

Bucklin got a great performance from Leighton Konrade as he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Konrade has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Willems, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Izaiah Pearce, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

On Spearville's side, Ian Melendez put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only two hits over four innings pitched. Melendez was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with a home run.
