William Monroe picks up third straight win at home

Recap: William Monroe Dragons vs. Madison County Mountaineers

The William Monroe Dragons entered their tilt with the Madison County Mountaineers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. William Monroe sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-42 victory over Madison County on Thursday. For William Monroe, this counts as revenge for the 63-41 loss Madison County walked away with the last time they faced one another last Friday.

When it comes to explaining why Madison County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bryce Breeden. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds. The match was Breeden's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth McLearen, who scored 13 points.

William Monroe has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 5-1 record. As for Madison County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. William Monroe will take on Rappahannock County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Madison County, they will head out on the road to face off against Orange County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
