Mizzou got the Wright stuff with this recruit.

From the Golden State to the Show Me State where the Tigers faithful hope Namon Wright shows them the skills that have him ranked the No. 68 overall recruit by 247sports.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound shooting guard from Pacific Hills (Los Angeles) averaged 15.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.3 steals and two blocks per game for the Bruins as junior. Teaming up with seniors Marcus Jackson and Jahmel Taylor, he led PHS to the 2013 Division IV CIF state championship. In their 58-52 victory over Cardinal Newman, Wright scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

This sort of play earned Wright a spot on the 2013 MaxPreps Junior All-American Team and first team All-Alpha League honors.

Wright helped Pacific Hills, one of the winningest programs in California, to the 2012 and 2013 CIF Southern Section titles. This season Pacific Hills moved to the Coastal League, finishing 11-1 in league, 19-10 overall, and ending its season in the 4AA section quarterfinals in a loss to Oaks Christian (Westlake Village, Calif.).

With more of the scoring burden placed on his shoulders due to the graduation of Jackson and Taylor, Wright was able to put up some very impressive scoring performances. Against Compton (Calif.) he had 42 points, followed closely by his 40-point game against Millikan (Long Beach, Calif.).

Wright committed to the Missouri Tigers in September of 2013. He had interest from Arizona, Gonzaga, Oregon and UCLA. At Missouri Wright will join forces with four-star forward JaKeenan Gant, the No. 50 recruit nationally.
