Basketball Recap: Flomaton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Excel on Friday, Flomaton came back down to earth. The Hurricanes were outmatched by the Escambia County Blue Devils and fell 66-22. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 72-33 on January 5th.

Despite the defeat, Flomaton had strong showings from Star Mcbride, who posted eight points, and Jacie Himes, who put up eight points. That was a full 36.4% of the Hurricanes' points, marking the 12th time in a row Himes has had more than a third of the team's points.

Flomaton's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Escambia County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Flomaton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-42 defeat against Hillcrest on the 22nd. As for Escambia County, they will challenge Jackson at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
