Basketball Recap: Mohave Accelerated Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Mohave Accelerated won the last time they faced Northland Prep Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. The Mohave Accelerated Patriots came out on top against the Northland Prep Academy Spartans by a score of 79-69.

Mohave Accelerated found their leader in sophomore Drake Knight, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Hoekstra, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 19 points.

Mohave Accelerated smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Despite the loss, Northland Prep Academy still got an impressive performance from Kian Khatibi, who posted 23 points along with six assists and three steals. That's the most points Khatibi has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ian Karren, who went 6 of 15 en route to 13 points.

Mohave Accelerated's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-8. As for Northland Prep Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 13-8 record.

Mohave Accelerated wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 71-33 victory against Trivium Prep on the 21st. Northland Prep Academy has also already played their next game, a 65-50 win against Pinon on the 21st.
