The Dunkirk Marauders will take on the Frewsburg Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dunkirk is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Dunkirk's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Eden as they made off with a 12-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Marauders considering their two-run performance the match before.
Danny Hoth looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

At the plate, Josh Lemanski was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Paul Trippy, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Dunkirk kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Frewsburg entered their tilt with Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama on Monday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Wolfpack by a score of 5-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 17, 2022, but that streak is no more.
Aidan Gruber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mason Eckman was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Frewsburg: the team is 14-0-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Maddox Sheesley was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Dunkirk pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Frewsburg, their win bumped their record up to 17-5-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Dunkirk has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Frewsburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Dunkirk's way against Frewsburg when the teams last played back in May of 2021, as Dunkirk made off with a 14-0 victory. Will the Marauders repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
