Basketball Game Preview: Tahoka Bulldogs vs. New Deal Lions

Tahoka hasn't had much luck against New Deal recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tahoka Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the New Deal Lions at 6:15 p.m.

On Friday, Tahoka took a blow against New Home, falling 92-14. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 798th, while the Leopards are ranked 123rd).

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely New Deal's strategy against Post on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that New Deal blew Post out of the water with a 62-6 final score. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 24 points or more this season.

New Deal is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.2 points per game. As for Tahoka, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-17.

Tahoka took a serious blow against New Deal when the teams last played on January 3rd, falling 61-27. Can Tahoka avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
