Evans came tearing into Friday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they left with even more momentum. They escaped with a win against the Lake Howell Silverhawks by the margin of a single free throw, 62-61. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Silverhawks, too.

Lake Howell's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Janiel De Los Santos, who posted 16 points and three steals. De Los Santos is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Devonn Quailey, who went 5 for 9 en route to 15 points.

Evans pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.2 points per game. As for Lake Howell, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 17-5.

Evans will welcome Wekiva at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Howell, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-37 win against Winter Springs on the 27th.
