Baseball Recap: Sequoia's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Sequoia dropped their record down to 13-10 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell 9-4 to the Capuchino Mustangs. The Ravens were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Drew Ostrander was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

As for Capuchino, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games.

On Capuchino's side, John Ferreira looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Ferreira has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Anakin Manuel was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Lucas Zayac, who went 2-for-5 with three runs and two RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Sequoia beat Capuchino by a score of 14-2 on Friday.
